We’re ending this quarter 2026 losing not one valued member of our team, but two.
JadeBespoke fabrication manager Jon Peake, and warehouse supervisor Mick Harrison, have both reached retirement this week.
Jade directors Sean and Adam want to thank both for their support, loyalty and hard work – Jon has been with Jade for nine years, and Mick for seven.
Their commitment to the company has contributed to it being what it is today.
Of course, this was an excuse to get in the samosas and kebabs for a special lunch for all.
Thank you guys, and enjoy your well earned rest.
Jade Engineering knows even the best machinery doesn’t fix everything. Which is why its JadeBespoke division focuses on the spaces between processes, helping fabricators maximise space, streamline workflow and unlock productivity, incorporating specialised metalworking for window fabrication businesses. In any busy fabrication environment, the spotlight naturally falls on machinery, tooling and output. Yet for many window and door manufacturers, the real constraints on productivity sit in the spaces in between – how products are stored, moved and handled as they progress through the factory.
It’s these gaps that Jade Engineering is focused on addressing through its JadeBespoke division: designing and producing the often-overlooked infrastructure that keeps production moving.
Jade has developed the perfect portable mill cutter to allow the addition of Astragal bars when installing windows on site. Weighing in at just 15kg and no larger than the size of a work site radio, the Jade Astragal Bar Miller can be stored in the back of a van and taken on-site from job to job, giving installers an immediate and effective method of completing what can often be a time consuming and fiddly install process.
Jade tool maker Garry Smedley is instrumental in making sure punch tools are shipped out to aluminium fabricator factories across the UK.
Garry has been with Jade for three and a half years and is responsible for assembling the growing number of punch tool machines being ordered with Jade. His job involves milling, turning and carefully assembling each unit with meticulous attention to ensure they are correct before leaving Jade.
It’s safe to say, Garry has become increasingly busier over recent months with Jade seeing orders of aluminium machines increase – and we’d just like to give a shout out to recognise the immense effort Garry demonstrates each day.
After a year of consolidation and stabilisation since moving into new 30,000 square foot premises, Jade is now gearing up for massive growth. To achieve this, the company is strengthening its core management team with the appointment of two key roles - Stephanie Tague has taken on the newly formed sales and marketing manager, and Harry Heer has stepped into the role of design engineering manager to lead the company’s existing technical and design team.
It's been a year since Jade moved into its new premises now, so we decided to invite industry publication Glass & Glazing Products to visit and have a look round our factory. Chris Beck, editor of Glass & Glazing Products, and Sat Dhillon, advertising manager, joined us for lunch this week, where we discussed the desire to have 'choices' in business, what the industry would do if Jade didn't exist, and the 2026 Glazing Summit agenda.
Attention grabbing headlines announcing vast investment in machinery are great for the ego. But are they really better for the business? Jade Engineering owners Sean Mackey and Adam Jones highlight how using an external consulting resource can save you tens, if not hundreds of thousands of pounds of unnecessary expenditure.
