JADE PRESS DAY

MG 8301

January 2025: Jade opened its new doors to the trade press, showcasing the results of £4million worth of investment that the company had undergone over the previous two years. The company invited the editors of key window and door industry trade magazines to a presentation, fish & chip lunch, and tour of its new 30,000 square foot Bayton Road factory in Coventry.

The day commenced with a presentation by Jade directors Sean Mackey and Adam Jones, outlining the steps that led them to making this investment. With so much window fabrication knowledge in the room, it is no surprise that conversations swirled around punch holes and drilling options, corner welders and what CNC router machines for sale in the UK.

Lunch was provided by The English Indian, a delicious twist on the traditional fish and chip staple. The whole Jade workforce tucked into the Pakora battered fish and chips, served with mushy peas and curry sauce, before heading back to their stations to give the editors an insight into the different aspects of Jade’s operational processes.

The tour took into account the company’s four new divisions – JadeMachines, JadeTooling, JadeBespoke and JadeConsult.

Sean and Adam particularly wanted to show off their Star SX38 machine – a hands-off lathe that, once set up, can operate for 24 hours with minimal need for manual intervention. As a consequence, Jade can respond to urgent requirements for smaller bespoke batch production requirements within a much faster turnaround than sourcing the same process from China.

As part of its drive to promote British engineering at its best, Jade had invested £330,000 in a Star SX38 sliding head lathe – the perfect solution for producing small fixings and fasteners in smaller batch numbers quickly, efficiently and cost effectively. Product differentiation across the window industry is crucial for market competitiveness, and with the Star machine Jade can offer window fabricators and component manufacturers the ability to up-design elements to outclass the competition.

The day was rounded off with interviews by Nathan Bushell, editor of Total Installer and Total Fabricator magazines.

All in all, a successful day was had by all, and we hope that the UK’s window and door industry are reassured to know that their machinery, tooling and production processes will continue to be in safe hands for many more years to come!
