Jade has developed the perfect portable mill cutter to allow the addition of Astragal bars when installing windows on site. Weighing in at just 15kg and no larger than the size of a work site radio, the Jade Astragal Bar Miller can be stored in the back of a van and taken on-site from job to job, giving installers an immediate and effective method of completing what can often be a time consuming and fiddly install process.

Jade tool maker Garry Smedley is instrumental in making sure punch tools are shipped out to aluminium fabricator factories across the UK.

Garry has been with Jade for three and a half years and is responsible for assembling the growing number of punch tool machines being ordered with Jade. His job involves milling, turning and carefully assembling each unit with meticulous attention to ensure they are correct before leaving Jade.

It’s safe to say, Garry has become increasingly busier over recent months with Jade seeing orders of aluminium machines increase – and we’d just like to give a shout out to recognise the immense effort Garry demonstrates each day.

After a year of consolidation and stabilisation since moving into new 30,000 square foot premises, Jade is now gearing up for massive growth. To achieve this, the company is strengthening its core management team with the appointment of two key roles - Stephanie Tague has taken on the newly formed sales and marketing manager, and Harry Heer has stepped into the role of design engineering manager to lead the company’s existing technical and design team.

It's been a year since Jade moved into its new premises now, so we decided to invite industry publication Glass & Glazing Products to visit and have a look round our factory. Chris Beck, editor of Glass & Glazing Products, and Sat Dhillon, advertising manager, joined us for lunch this week, where we discussed the desire to have 'choices' in business, what the industry would do if Jade didn't exist, and the 2026 Glazing Summit agenda.
